Collage with a Tack Iron-Volume 4
Working with experiences of the past online classes, Volumes 1, 2, and 3, this online class pulls it all together and presents the use of the tack iron or house iron to fuse the magazine collage papers together. Leaning heavy on design, two small exercises and one larger will be explored.
Strengthen Your Design, Volume 3
This class was created to follow Volume 1 and 2 in my series of Collage sketchbook classes. Continuing to working with a viewfinder, looking more closely at a variety of compositions.
Viewing New Compositions-Collage in a Sketchbook Volume 2
This course follows Volume 1, Basic Design with Collage in a Sketchbook. It's here to help you progress in your design abilities with the fine art of collage. Pushing you a bit further then you might go on your own. Simple materials, viewfinder, magazines, glue sticks, sandpaper and scissors in a sketchbook.
Basic Design with Collage in a Sketchbook Volume 1
Begins with the basics of design to help you see each element in its simplest form and with others. This will help you have a better understanding of design and create some great compositions in your sketchbook as we go through this class. Some sketches may turn out to be great references for larger works. I have four online class create to be accomplished in sequence. Follow each volume and see how it builds in knowledge of the design principles that will help you make better choices.
More About Laura Lein-Svencner
Laura Lein-Svencner grew up in Downers Grove close to her Grandfather's farm, now resides in Darien, Illinois. She’s married with four grown children and a home full of loving creatures. Although she has studied drawing, printmaking, sculpture, book arts and the art of hand papermaking, it is the love of paper that always calls out for the most attention. She comes from many generations of Creative Makers working with their hands. She is self taught, and believes strongly in the knowledge of design principles. Their the life savor of the arts especially when your uncertain about the next right thing to do with our artmaking process.
She is a signature member of the National Collage Society, co-founder of the Midwest Collage Society, which exhibits throughout the Midwest Chicagoland area. She has won many awards for her work which are represented at Woodwalk Gallery Egg Harbor, Jane Wilcoxson Mineral Point WI. Her works have been published in Incite 1, 2, 3 and 4 of North Light Publishing, Acrylicworks, Somerset Studio Magazine, Cloth Paper Scissor Magazine, The Professional Artist Magazine, The Artist's Magazine and The Watercolor Artist Magazine through the years. She continues her second love of teaching the fine art of collage in classroom settings, workshops and online for the past 24 years. Laura has recently self-published two book, Learn the Basics of Design with Collage and Tack Down Tuesday’s available through blurb.
