ATHA: an auspicious beginning

Let's begin again. Following the path of Tantric Hatha Yoga, let's rediscover this ancient wisdom: reintegrating body, breath, mind, heart, and soul. In this course, we will purposefully weave asana, pranayama, kriya, meditation, contemplation, relaxation and purification, and set out to experience yoga's true goal: ultimate freedom and lasting fulfillment.

Using ancient yogic and tantric texts and techniques as our guide, we will traverse uncharted territory through the trials and tribulations of our minds, to the joyful radiance of our hearts, and EMERGE with a tangible grasp on our purpose in life: that which delivers ultimate freedom and lasting fulfillment.

WE RISE Playing with Prana

WE RISE is a daily guided group meditation. We meet every morning for 28 days 7-7:30am Pacific Time. If you have wondered how your life might improve from a daily meditation practice, this is your opportunity to find out!

We will explore the influence of Prana in our physical, mental and spiritual lives. By developing our relationship with Prana, we allow it to to work in us and through us, to help us realize life's true purpose: lasting freedom and ultimate fulfillment.

More About Natalie Backman

My name is Natalie. My relationship with yoga spans nineteen years and I've been devoted to sharing the teachings for seven. In that time, yoga has grown from a purely physical experience to a holistic reintegration with my heart. It has become my means for mental clarity, emotional stability, a life's purpose, and spiritual path. As an initiate of the Sri Vidya Tradition, I am profoundly grateful to belong to an unbroken lineage of Tantric Yoga devotees, reaching back several thousand years.

A 500-hour Experienced Registered yoga teacher and YACEP, I remain a lifelong student. My teachers are Tracee Stanley, YogaRupa Rod Stryker, and Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, the spiritual head of the Himalayan Institute. We are of the Himalayan Tradition, as shared with the west by Swami Rama, a Master Yogi steeped in the teachings of the Himalayan Masters.

I share a modern approach to Traditional Tantric Hatha Yoga through a blend of Vinyasa Krama, Yoga Nidra, Mantra Japa and Meditation. I teach only what I have embodied through my years of practice, as I gain the power of transmission. My hope is that practicing with me will help you not only strengthen and purify your body, calm and stabilize your mind, and manage your energy, but most importantly, facilitate the sweet remembrance of your sacred Self.​
