Upload a video by adding a video block. You'll find the button to add a video block at the bottom of the lesson edit page.
Then, click the 'choose file' button and locate the file on your computer.
What formats work?
Pretty much any format will work but .mp4 and .m4v are best.
What size should it be?
Keep in the mind that if you are uploading a very large video, it may take several hours to upload and process as well as use a lot of your bandwidth. A very large video can also timeout sometimes. That's frustrating! We also resize all the videos to 1280 x 720 (720p) so there's really no point uploading something bigger than that.
Always try to keep your videos on the smaller side. A good general rule is a maximum of 1GB per half hour of video. So if your video is 15 minutes long, it should be no bigger than 500MB. And remember, that is a maximum, even smaller than that would be better.
How do I make my videos smaller/web ready?
Adding a video that has already had been formatted for the web using a video editing program will save you tons of time and bandwidth. Since every video editing program is different and exports with different settings, we've found that running your video through Handbrake can solve a lot of problems. And it's free!
Choose the "Regular - Normal" setting in the presets. If you don't see the little preset panel on the side, click "Toggle Presets" in the top right.
