The Basics

When you first hit the 'new lesson' button you'll see this modal:

This is where you give your first lesson a name. Below that you can create a group for the lesson to go in. Lessons can be arranged in groups. Grouping lessons will put a header at top of the group and visually separate lessons from each other. If you don't want to categorize your lessons, you can just leave them all in the default group called 'Lessons'.

After you have created your first lesson, you can add more by clicking the '+new lesson' button at the bottom of the page. Or if you prefer you can create an empty group and add some lessons later.

Below is an example lesson list for you to take a look at. You'll see I have my lessons arranged into a couple different groups and my publish dates are all set.

The Controls

  • click 'edit title' to change the name of a group
  • use the up and down arrows to change the group's position in the list
  • click the lesson to edit it's content
  • publish settings for each lesson can be changed by clicking the gear next to it
  • use the 4-arrow move icon to drag and drop lessons into a different location

Publishing Lessons

There are 4 ways to publish your lessons:

Manually

Publish your lessons any time you want on your own schedule. This option works great if you have an "evergreen" type course where participants are constantly enrolling and will have access to all the course material immediately. Once you're done writing, just set all the lessons to 'publish' and you're done!

Specific Date

This one is pretty straight forward too, just pick a date and the lesson will automatically be published on that date in your time zone. This option makes things easy for people who have a course that runs for a certain number of weeks and the lessons are released over that time period.

Time After Enrollment

The 'time after enrollment' option let's you publish your lessons a certain number of days or weeks after the participant has enrolled. You can get creative with this option and publish and make a new lesson available to your students each week or even every day.

Free Sample Lesson

A free sample lesson will be available immediately to anyone who visits your course enrollment page. A free sample can a great selling tool to convince participants that your e-course is right for them. Providing a taste of your writing and style can help people who are on the fence decide to invest in your course. For a Free Sample lesson, a button will appear on your course splash page in the left sidebar under the price.

Editing Your Lessons

Now it's time to create your lesson content. You can add text, video, images, audio and downloadable files. For more info on using the lesson editor, please see Using the Editor.
