How do I get paid?

In order to charge for your course and receive payments, you must have either a verified PayPal account or an activated Stripe account. Connect your account on the account settings page.

If you don't have a PayPal account, you can simply set up one up by clicking the 'sign-up' link on paypal.com. For more information on getting verified see the PayPal help.

Note: Your PayPal account must also be able to send payments using your balance (this is how we collect our fee). In certain countries, PayPal does not allow this. If you have any questions, please contact support.

You can setup Stripe directly from your account settings page whether you have an account already or not, just follow their instructions and you'll end up back on CourseCraft ready to go.

What do I need to get paid for my courses?

You need a verified PayPal account or activated Stripe account in order to receive payments from your participants. For information on getting verified, see the PayPal help. For information on activating your Stripe account see this page.

If you want to enable your participants to pay with a credit card when using PayPal, you must have a 'Premier' or 'Business' PayPal account. You can still receive money with a 'Personal' account, however your participant will also need to have a PayPal account in order to purchase the course, they will not be able to pay with a credit card.

How long does it take to get paid?

PayPal: Funds from your course sales are deposited immediately into your PayPal account when someone enrolls in the course. CourseCraft does not handle the funds, so there is no delay imposed by CourseCraft. PayPal's normal policies for withdrawing funds from your PayPal account apply.

Stripe: Funds will appear in your Stripe dashboard right away, but will take 7 days to clear and transfer to your bank account. See this page for more details.

The CourseCraft fee will handled automatically so you do not need to take any action to send the fee to CourseCraft.

Why do you charge fees?

The payment processor fee is unfortunately non-negotiable. Everyone who does business online has to pay it. The CourseCraft fee goes towards to keeping CourseCraft up and running. That means bandwidth, storage space for your images and videos, servers, hosting, etc. We think our little fee is fair and we hope you do too!

How do I add sales tax to my course?

CourseCraft does not calculate or manage sales taxes. It is up to you as the course creator to include any sales tax in your price.

Can I offer my course for free?

You can absolutely offer your course for free! If you don't charge anything for your course, no transaction fees will be charged.

However please keep in mind that it is against our terms & conditions to circumvent the payment system. This means that if you offer a course for free, it must be genuinely free and you must not accept payment for the course through another channel.

How do I issue a refund to one of my participants?

All refunds must be processed via the processor itself. For PayPal, see this page. For Stripe, here.

I want a refund for a course I enrolled in, how can I do this?

CourseCraft does not handle funds on the course creator's behalf, all payments are remitted directly to them. If you have a dispute or wish to ask for a refund you must contact the course creator directly. PayPal's policies or Stripe's policies apply to all disputes.

Who is responsible for disputes between participants and course creators?

As the course creator, payments are deposited directly into your PayPal/Stripe account. CourseCraft does not handle funds on your behalf, and we are not responsible for any disputes that may arise between yourself and your course participants.
