It's too wet / cold / snowy to train outside!
I decided to create a mini class of lessons pulled from my book, Phenomenal Stopped Contacts in 30 Days, that can be done in the house!
How can I train a dog walk... without a dog walk?
Easy! We're going to focus on parts of a phenomenal stopped contact:
- getting into 2o2o position,
- holding 2o2o position until a verbal release, and
- exiting with speed (and turns!).
You don't need a dog walk to work on these skills. Your "contact" can be:
- a book
- a short plank
- the bottom step
- the fireplace
- anything handy!
In fact, you can use all of those things!
Will the skills transfer to equipment later?
They sure will! Just a quick review of what you've done in the house will help your pup understand that the dog walk works the same way.

Frequently Asked Questions
What level of dog is this class for?
Any! Puppies can begin their 2o2o skills and experienced dogs can proof their behavior and improve their releases & exits.
What agility equipment do I need? And how much space?
No equipment needed. You can use any sort of object as your "contact" - book, plank, step, etc. Everything can be done in your living room (and my living room is SMALL!).
Do I need any special technical equipment to access this course?
If you are submitting video, you will need a way to record video and upload it to YouTube.
For accessing the class, any web browser should work for reading the class pages, watching videos, and posting your videos, questions, and comments.
Can I work two dogs?
Yes! You have two options:
- Buy two spots in class and submit homework videos for both dogs on all lessons.
- Buy one spot in class and submit one dog's videos per lesson. You can alternate dogs or just post whatever dog is struggling more with the homework. As long as it's one dog per lesson, the rest is up to you!
How long do I have access to the course?
The classroom will be open for 6 weeks of instruction time and close 1-2 weeks after instruction ends.
I still have a question, how can I contact you?
I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. Send me an email at email@example.com.
