Complete Representational Alcohol Ink Painting

Complete Representational Alcohol Ink Painting

Learn to paint beautiful representational alcohol ink paintings with this independent, self-paced course. Access to the course is unlimited.

If you love the vibrant colors and unpredictability of alcohol inks but want to add a bit more control, this is the course for you!*

*Note: if you have taken a course from me or purchased any of the demo collections, this is probably not the course for you. Why? You already have this information in a slightly different format. If you have purchased a shorter course (such as just the beginning inks) and wish to upgrade, please email me at karen@karenwalkerart.com

Hi, I’m artist and instructor, Karen Walker. I’ve been painting and teaching alcohol inks on Yupo since 2009. I love the inks for their vibrancy, fluidity, and a little bit of uncontrollability, but I also like representational painting that has a subject in mind – so my goal is planned spontaneity.

This course shares all of the techniques I use to create representational paintings with a little looseness to showcase the amazing beauty and magic of alcohol inks.

It is an independent, self-paced course that you’ll have unlimited access to – I’ve taken all of the lessons and videos and put them in one rather large course – over 80 lessons with 55 demonstrations for you to try or be inspired by to create your own beautiful works. Please check out the free sample lessons - link at top in the header or in the lesson list below.

The course starts out with instruction on the basic techniques for spontaneity and control: flow, textures, lifting, masking, and brush and penwork. Perfect if you are a beginner (even with no painting experience) or an experienced ink artist – it will show you my techniques and be a great reference for what I’m doing in the later videos.
