I get it. Life is hectic.
It can be hard to prioritize health. At times it is like a juggling act to keep all the balls in the air.
There is a lot of inaccurate, incomplete, complicated, and/or contradicting health information out there. Sometimes it can be hard to know what to do with it all. Not to mention all the many outside influences impacting you & your providers.
I've been there. When I worked at a desk job for years I felt like my health was slowly declining and yet I was eating healthy and exercising regularly.
I'm no stranger to juggling - family, work, community, church, school, ... and somewhere in there - health!
Turns out, what I thought was healthy wasn't, and the exercise I was doing didn't have a hope of making up for the hours I was sitting stationary. I was slowly putting on unwanted pounds. What I noticed most though, was my decreasing strength and I was exhausted at the end of the day. I had zero energy.
The good news is, once I made the decision to take charge of my health I lost weight. I gained back strength. I have energy to spare again!
Health journaling was one of the simple techniques I used to get started and create a vision for myself.
Where Do You Want to Go?
Build a Stronger You
Start with a health journal.
This course will provide you with specific action steps to take. Improve your health with health journaling. I'll help you stay motivated with a positive attitude.
I've been a nurse for over twenty years and I understand that people want to be able to take care of themselves. Nobody wants to wake up in the morning and feel lousy.
I'm going to tell you a secret. Many doctors and nurses don't get it. They think you can't handle the truth. They sugar coat it instead of telling it like it is. You aren't a baby, and you don't need sugar coating, so I'm going to lay it out there for you...
Nothing will change with your life until you do. If you aren't where you would like to be, then let's get down to work and figure out why.
Take control of your health.
In the long run - it will be liberating.
A health journal can be a game changer in how you communicate with others. Changing the way you approach your provider may just change how they treat you.
Many people have already figured this out and they like to keep a health journal to track their progress in meeting health goals. For those of you who are already on the right track to staying healthy and keeping a health journal, you may be better off with one of my other courses.
If life sometimes gets in the way of doing the right things to stay healthy, a health journal can help you stay focused and have greater self awareness. In my case, I thought I was being healthy. I didn't see that I really wasn't until I took a closer look.
If you feel like you have gotten lost and aren't taking care of you, learning to keep a health journal can be the answer to finding your way again.
