Strip Sandwiches are something I make when I'm feeling stuck creatively. They are a quick and easy way to get myself sewing. Because I am playing with color combinations and letting loose with some basic improvisational piecing, it helps me to get out of my own head and just experiment.
Strip Sandwiches are easy to make, extremely forgiving and can be tailored to quilts of all shapes and sizes. Through videos, text, and photos I will demonstrate the basic skills to create your own sandwiches. Value and color placement in quilts is a major component of the workshop.
If you need a creative jump start or have ever wanted to try out an easy improv technique, this class is a great way to get started.
The workshop is beginner friendly. Participants should have basic quilting skills such as an ability to sew blocks together with 1/4" seam, use a rotary cutter, and use a sewing machine. Quilting and binding your finished quilt top is not covered. This technique is scrap, charm pack, and jelly roll friendly.
