UPDATE: THIS COURSE WILL CLOSE ON MAY 1, 2022.
SADLY THE HOST OF THIS PLATFORM HAS DECIDED TO SHUT DOWN.
A sampling of lessons that you might find inside some of my other courses.
Sooo NOT BORING... cus only boring people get bored.
Sooo NOT SIMPLE... but it's simple enough anyone can do it.. cus you know... everyone's an artist.
You'll find out all you need to get started. (don't worry its not a lot of expensive, hard to find supplies) I want you to have and use art supplies that are affordable, easy to get and keep on hand, to mix and match and enjoy.
Using easy, affordable materials, I'll inspire you with new ideas. I'll be teaching you something different each week, but showing you how you can use different techniques to find your own style. I love it when my students create unique work from my lessons which start them off on making their own choices in their own art.
This course is available to all beginner art students, young and old. Great for whole family. Keep access to this and keep coming back!
What age?? Well, from my experience, a student's success in my classes is more about their inbuilt self, their ability to try new things, stick with it, try their best, and extend themselves... more than it is about their age. If you are doing this with your children, I am sure you will enjoy it. I want everyone to be able to follow along, and extend if they want to (I'll add ideas for this) or simplify if they want. (kids are good at this)
You can just use the chat box under each lesson to communicate with me about yours or your child's work, and even post photos!!!!
WHAT WILL WE BE LEARNING?
Drawing skills, using pencil, pen, sharpie, and colouring techniques with water colour pencils.
How to make a commitment to your art practise, showing up each week at a time that suits you, being accountable by showing your teacher your work. And love the sketchbook, for it allows you to learn, experiment and practise without feeling the need for it to be a masterpiece.
I'll be including extra videos and tips for display, sharing your art etc
I cannot wait to connect with you where ever you are!!!
"Everyone's an artist!"
You definitely don't want your kids to grow up saying (like so many other adults) "I can't draw" "oh I wish I could draw" "I can't even draw a stick figure"
And if you are one of those adults, then this is just the thing for you!
It's a bit of a challenge, cus you know, I'm serious about actually teaching you something. I don't want to rob you. I want to help you grow, gain confidence and skills and LOVE your work. And I'm sure you will.
Remember, you can post your art inside each lesson, and I'll set it, and reply!
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I have access to the course?
Forever! Once you've enrolled and paid, you'll have access to the course material for as long as you need. So devour it all in one weekend or take things slow. It's your choice!
I still have a question, how can I contact you?
I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What kind of art supplies do we need?
Firstly, look around home and you will likely fine an ordinary pencil, eraser, ordinary black pen, and hopefully you have a sketchbook. If not just pop out to your dollar store and get a sketchbook, some black permanent markers, (vivid, sharpie or imitiation ones works fine too) and some watercolour pencils or watercolour palettes. (for palettes dont get the absolute cheapest you can find. It's better to pay $10 and have them last longer and wayyy better colour quality). You'll also need a cup of water to rinse you brush.
What age is this for?
What age?? It's for kids, parents, grandparents. .... Thanks so much for reaching out. We are enjoying them, I am doing it alongside my 8year old. My 6 year old however has joined in for the bits that he wants to and really loved the zentangle Gems, infact he is still re-drawing them in some form alot.
I love the fact that you are local and we can join in but don't I have to rush to take one child to an extra place after school (a big plus with 3 kids and multiple activities to wrangle)
I will take some photos and send them later this week, we are still a bit behind but loving it so far :)
Have a good week, Arna— Arna S, Hamilton, NZ
