Angelina Angels

Hello and welcome to my course, Angelina Angels

I am Gina Ferrari, an artist and adult education tutor with over twenty years experience teaching machine embroidery. In this course, we will be working on creating angels or fairies for your Christmas Tree.

As well as your sewing machine, with an ability to lower the feed dogs, you will just need some basic supplies and equipment. The course is organised into short sections or lessons and within each there are several videos to guide you through each step. You will be able to take this at your own pace, watching the videos and doing the exercises in a way that suits you. And of course you can repeat the projects as often as you like! You will need some basic experience of free machine embroidery and we will be working with dissolvable fabrics and Angelina fibres

If you have any questions that I have not answered here then please do get in touch. Enrolment is now open and this will give you immediate full access to all the course content.

Some final words

How long do I have access to the course?

Once you've enrolled you'll have access to the course material throughout the month of December... plenty of time to make lots of angels for your tree!

What materials will I need?

Number one is a sewing machine where you can lower or cover the feed dogs plus an embroidery foot. You will need some Angelina fibres and dissolvable fabrics, wooden dolly pegs and a small selection of fabrics, threads, ribbons, sequins and beads. Everything else is easy to obtain and I give links to suppliers.

How long will the course take?

You will be able to make an angel or two in just a couple of hours!

What experience do you have

I originally trained as a secondary school teacher and taught Maths and Art in a North London school before taking a career break to have my children. Although I returned briefly to school teaching, during this time I took City and Guilds machine embroidery through to diploma level which led me to teach in adult education. I have taught now for over twenty years as a tutor at Missenden Abbey where I taught City and Guilds, as well as at a variety of weekend and summer school classes. I have also taught at numerous workshops throughout the UK as well as running weekly machine embroidery classes at a local adult education centre. I currently run a Stitched Textiles Masterclass that meet six times a year. As well as machine embroidery I have taught sketchbook classes, book making and printing on textiles. I have also been involved with numerous community projects working both in schools as well as with adults and children with learning difficulties.

Do I need experience of free machine embroidery?

Yes, you will need to be able to do free machine embroidery

How much does the course cost?
