CEED - Cultural Emergence Effective Design

Welcome to the CEED Course 2021

This is a 6 week course with Looby Macnamara and Jon Young. The CEED (Cultural Emergence Effective Design) course develops our design skills needed for the MOVE & INVIGORATE phase of Cultural Emergence. We focus on how we can manifest our goals and visions effectively. You are guided to make a design for yourself  using the Design Web (created by Looby) to create a culture of effectiveness and connection.

This training will give you the confidence and skills to design any aspect of your life. You will gain design skills and tools ready to take forward and do more designs. Using the Design Web as a framework we move with intention and clarity to create flexible, motivating designs for an aspect of our lives. The design you create becomes a 'CEED' that you can grow and cultivate beyond the course.

This course is now closed for enrollments - but please do sign up for our newsletter to be notified when our next Cultural Emergence Effective Design course is. Meanwhile the Activating Cultural Emergence course and the taster course are open for enrollments anytime. https://cultural-emergence.com...

Practical information

The course material will consist of videos and activities with a forum for sharing reflections, comments, stories and questions. This forum will create a rich source of connection and emergent wisdom from the group.

There will be 3 group calls with Jon and Looby and the team. (If you can't make all of the calls that is OK recordings will be uploaded to the site afterwards). The calls will be every other week on a Thurs (June 17th, July 1st, July 15th) at 6-8pm UK (BST) time, 7-9pm CET Central European Time, 10am - 12 pm Pacific Time, 1-3pm Eastern time. Click here to find your timezone. We are also working on finding another time to repeat these calls for another timezone, (in particular for those in Australia and New Zealand) please be in contact if you would like to attend at another time of the week.

The will also be 3 Tutorials in smaller groups delivered by other members of the Facilitation Team. They will happen alternate weeks to the group calls on weds at 2pm BST or Weds 6pm BST, or thurs 2pm BST. (You choose one group and time to join).

The material can be covered in an hour or 2 each week, and then the time you take incorporating the activities into your life, planning your design and sharing stories is up to you.

Enrollments are open now, and the course material will be available from 7th June. We will close enrollments on 7th June.

There are 3 modules for Cultural Emergence. I am a great believer in non-linear learning so these modules can be taken in any order. It is useful to have done the taster course to give an understanding of the premises. This is a short course that can be taken alongside the CEED course.

The ACE (Activating Cultural Emergence) course is open for enrollments at any time. We hope to offer the PEACE course again in the Autumn.

A culture of participation and exchange

We are keen to make this course accessible to people, and acknowledge that this is a challenging time for many people, and even without COVID there are many inequalities globally and with different demographics. And we also know that there are people out there who have a healthy financial flow and can direct some of that towards the work we are doing and to support others to be on this course. A face to face course would normally cost hundreds of pounds, but we can offer it for less because we don't have venue and food costs. We are keen for people to join who are committed to engaging with the course, and creating a design for themselves.

We are therefore offering a sliding scale, please choose whatever sits well within your financial means (you can also choose increments within these suggestions).

£75-150 supported by the community rate

£150-225 standard rate

£225-350 Community supporter rate (supporting exchange places) - for those feeling able and willing to give extra support (with this extra money we can offer more exchange places and support the facilitators).

We are offering 50% of the CEED course as Exchange Places. We want to offer those who need it a free place, in exchange for their ideas, designs and enthusiasm that they can share with the group and beyond with their friends and networks. Particularly for those in majority world countries, youth, single parents, refugees, those on Universal Credit or equivalent government support and anyone else who is really keen to engage but struggling at the moment. Please reach out to Emma if you would like to join on an exchange place - culturalemergence@yahoo.com
