Discover this profoundly effective toolkit for positive change. During the course you will deepen your understanding of culture and how to influence it including your own personal culture. I will share with you tools to enhance your personal patterns of thinking, behaving and interacting. Woven into this we will begin to learn the language of systems and emergence, that will bring a new way of seeing the world. There will be practical activities to bring this toolkit alive in your own lives.
You can enroll on the course anytime, and each week for 6 weeks you will receive the new lessons. You will have access to all the material until June 2019, so you can dip in and out as you wish and work at your own pace.
The Cultural Emergence toolkit
Humanity is presently in a crisis
of disconnection and a time of mass cultural emergency; we see the
personal, social, political and environmental problems as stemming from a
lack of cultural understanding and cohesion. We believe there are tools
that can help turn this around into mass Cultural Emergence; where
abundance, gratitude, care and connection are part of our everyday
Cultural Emergence is a toolkit for expanding our positive impact in the world. Cultural Emergence uses conscious design and action to help us manifest our ideal scene, for ourselves and the world. The toolkit is designed to support us to be proactive and facilitate visionary responses to our global crises, starting with our own personal lives.
The toolkit is an evolution of Looby's pioneering work with People and Permaculture and 7 Ways to Think Differently. It has emerged over the last 2 years through the collaboration, distillation and synthesis of Looby's
revolutionary work in the arenas of personal and social permaculture and Jon Young's inspirational expertise in deep nature connection and village building. We are now
collaborating with other visionaries and
leaders around the world to bring together the most profoundly
The Activating Cultural Emergence course is one of 3 modules to learn the toolkit and gain a deeper understanding of how to use it to initiate change in our own lives. It is the first module to be offered in this online format. To see all of the courses on offer please visit www.LoobyMacnamara.com
I found the Cultural Emergence course to be enjoyable and insightful. My awareness of unseen aspects of culture, privilege and my own personal culture was deepened. The course has been relevant to my work in regenerative agriculture and enhanced my coaching skills to use within the organisations I work in and the farmers I work with and in allowing for the possibility of the seemingly impossible to emerge. I love the practical emphasis on moving the tools.— Kim, Australia
How the course works
Each week for 6 weeks you will receive 3 new lessons. These lessons
will have videos and text from Looby. With each lesson comes activities
and questions for you to bring the learning alive in your life. There is
also the chance to share insights with other course participants in the
comments. The comments will also be responded to by Looby and her team
of trained facilitators.
The lessons will be available for you to revisit and deepen your learning up until the end of June 2019.
"This course is very rich and extremely accessible. I especially appreciate the lessons of observation, and then when one is ready to engage, to be open to the possibility and mystery of emergence.
The structure and content of the course are engaging and the Looby and her collaborators are helpful and encouraging."— Beth, USA
Looby is a highly experienced facilitator, designer and author. She has been involved in permaculture since 1999, and has been teaching since 2003. She is author of People and Permaculture, 7 Ways to Think Differently and Strands of Infinity. People and Permaculture was the first book internationally to translate the principles and design of permaculture into people based systems, widening the definition of permaculture and making it relevant to everyone.
Looby lives on a 20 acre smallholding in the UK, where she runs a training and demonstration centre - Applewood Permaculture Centre, with her partner.
Looby has been researching and developing the Cultural Emergence toolkit over the last 2 years, and is currently writing her next book about it.
This is the second online course that Looby has run, and she is intrigued to discover the depth of connection and learning that can be achieved with this format.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I have access to the course?
The course will be available until June 30th 2019. You will have access to all of the lessons to revisit and deepen your learning as often as you wish.
Is an online course right for me?
Online courses are different obviously from face to face courses, and that isn't to say one is better than the other. The online format allows for more immediate observation and integration into your own life, and gives more time for reflection. Through the comments you can connect with other course participants and share insights. And obviously the online format means you don't need to travel, arrange childcare or take time off work. And after doing this course online, you might want to take other opportunities to come and learn face to face with me.
