About the course
Training in the general provisions for the carriage of dangerous goods by road is a legal requirement for all persons involved in their transport.
This includes manufacturers, transport office staff, packers, loaders, drivers if they do not hold an ADR licence, and all persons involved in the preparation and transport of dangerous goods packed as limited quantities and excepted quantities.
This course will provide you with a general overview of the ADR provisions. The course is entirely online and allows you to work through at your own pace.
Downloadable guidance is included with the course for you to reference back to at a later date, lessons are accompanied by quizzes and complex provisions are explained by video with accompanying examples.
This training is also designed to fulfil the theoretical requirements of the function-specific and safety training, as detailed in ADR Chapter 1.3, for common roles such as packers, loaders, unloaders and consignors.
However, because all operations are different, we can not verify the competency of employees, which we recommend should be monitored or verified by the employer.
The training includes videos with audio and the test requires cookies to be enabled on your browser.
The course price is £66.00 per user and includes 20% VAT, a VAT invoice can be downloaded automatically following your purchase.
Please contact us if you would like to pay for multiple users via emailed invoice, or would like to pay zero rate VAT, e.g. if you are located outside the EU.

Do I need a copy of ADR to complete the course?
No, but you will find it helpful and useful to refer to. A pdf copy can be downloaded from the UNECE Website (there is a link within the course) if you do not have a hard copy.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes, upon successful completion of the test a personalised pdf certificate is provided for you to download straight away as your training record.
Is previous experience required?
No previous experience is required.
Is this the same as an ADR drivers course?
No, in terms of driving a vehicle carrying dangerous goods, awareness training is required if you wish to transport goods such as those packed and declared as limited quantities or where goods are transported below the thresholds outlined in ADR 188.8.131.52. For anything above these limits, you must attend a classroom driver training course.
